Informed is always good

GMO Labeling on foods. The poster above shows companies that are opposing the law trying to be passed in California that will affect us all. I am disappointed to see some companies that I buy products from organic products are not supporting the passing of this new law! I guess this is where I have to vote with my pocket book and stop buying those brands now. I may not can vote on the law as I am not in California but we can all vote with our pocketbooks and stop buying from companies that do not feel we have a right to know what is in our food.

GMO labeling is very important. This isnt about your political beliefs this simply about do you want to know what is in your food? I sure do. To me this is quite simple, if GMO is so safe and wonderful then why is it such a fight to get disclosure of it on our food labels? Because they know themselves and have said it will be the kiss of death to products selling! Now hows that for a how do you do... We have a right to know what is in our food period.

This site will explain more about this new law that will be voted on soon.  We don't all live in California but its my understanding if this passes with enough votes it will  be across the board labeling. I hope it passes! I wish I could vote on this! GMO is complex and they intend for it to be. The site above explains it more clearly then anywhere else I have read up on it. It has numerous articles on the subject, explaining in detail what GMO food is and what it has done and will do to our health in very good detail that is easy to understand.  You can use the search engine on that site to find all the articles. GMO is scary stuff and its our health, we have a right to know!!

If you feel so inclined by all means spread the word via  your blog :O)
Okay I am stepping down off my soap box now..

Thanks for posting this. I'm definitely a fan of voting with my wallet and will be sure not to purchase from some of those companies! I agree - I want to know what's in my food, and if you're unwilling to tell me, then I'm not buying it.

You would be surprised at how many of the "organic" companies are owned by Monsanto and its ilk.

Although older, I most certainly want to know WHAT's in my food...what it's comprised of because I CARE!...:)JP

No surprise that Monsanto is at the top of the list, either.

It is definitely scary that a lot of processed food is more about a chemical experiment than nutrition. It's the reason I try to eat food that is in its raw form, but sometimes, we have to stop on the road because we don't have access to ready food or we like a food, but feel confused about WHAT it is made from...the longer the words on the ingredients label, the more leery I feel and am apt to put it back on the shelf.

We are even making our own taco shells, home-made tortillas, etc., which you can probably relate to because of living in Texas!

I'm surprised about the organic companies supporting Monsanto's interests. If they don't want you to "know", it sure seems they're trying to hide something, no?
