It started out one way and then went another....

How this post started....I got a cyber note from my best bud to let me know she was pretty sure she had seen one of my kid coats on a adorable little fella in a article in Grit Magazine. Well of course I ran right over through cyber-land to read the article and see. Sure enough there it was. A sweet article about a adorable little fella named Murphy Winchester III

Excited, I then emailed who I knew through my blog to be this little fellas human Mom and asked if I could put it on my blog. I was told surely I could, but I was also given some sad news...

Then I started to not write this post, I felt perhaps it was not something people would want to read after all.  On one hand I knew everyone would enjoy reading about and seeing the photos of this adorable fella. But given the additional info it would also be sad.  But in the end I decided to write it as I knew there would be a big smile for everyone when they saw this little guy and because this is what it is like when you raise goats.

Those that raise goats know all to well how they worm their way into your heart at super speeds... they are so cute, affectionate and lovable. We also know that kids are fragile to some degree and they don't always make it. But yet we do it over and over. One would ask themselves why? Why do we put ourselves though it.....

This is why
This is Murphy Winchester III's photo.. from Spring Peeper Farm....

Will you just look at that face...cuteness I tell you.. total cuteness!
This is why we do it. Why we do all the hard work, often getting our hearts broke along the way. But we do it again and again. Why we will stay in the barn all hours of the night in the freezing cold or sweltering heat with a sick goaty. Why we get in there and help those Nannies deliver these little jewels, hoping for a good outcome and not always getting one. Why we do all the hard work that goes with having goats and there is plenty of hard work.
Why... because.. we get goaty breath kisses in return, goaty snuggles and goaty nibbles on our clothes which for some reason always make you smile, though they are chewing holes in your shirt edge? I know figure that out :O). We get lots of laughs watching them do their gymnastics and we smile a lot!
Thats why
 Kids are irresistible.

Murphy WinchesterIII touched many hearts in the time he was here and was loved greatly.

If we were still on the Acreage, I am sure some of those cute guys would have been added to our "Zoo"

What a doll, and your goat coat is adorable. So sorry the little guy didn't make it.
