Blackberries, todays pick

This mornings pick, the dab of sun we got yesterday really kicked them into gear.

These are Kiowa Blackberries, to my knowledge the largest blackberry we grow in the states. They are not thornless, they have mean thorns but the pay off is the huge berries. They are invasive so choose where you plant them carefully.

Look at your big giant blackberries. Beautiful. It makes me miss coastal Oregon so much, blackberries everywhere growing wild.

WOW! Beautiful. What variety are these?? Seems like the enjoy our somewhat 'erratic' climate, ha.

Our farm is covered (normally) in dewberries, but the rain has actually hindered their production. Crazy.

I've thought of putting some blackberries around the yard in various places.

Enjoy them!
